First, just know that this book has surpassed the usual plots of classic “rom-coms”. The amount of times that it did made me cringe due to the awkward and noticeable sexual tension was on its own very entertaining.

Woah, What’s It About?

Yeah, I should probably start here. Sweet Olivia (all her friends call her Ol’) studies academia after her mother’s passing. She had gone to make a difference for cancer that ended up taking her mother, pancreatic.

The whole reason she is able to make it through? Her best girl friend, Anh. Helping her get into more STEM studies and making her fell less freak like. When Olivia splits up with what should have been a fling but lasted a little too long, Jeremy.

To make herself look less available and to make Anh not feel bad about liking Jeremy, she ends up kissing the guy she sees in the lab, and when Anh saw and leaves, Olivia looks to see that it’s the dick Dr. Carlson who looks amazing but can squash any scientists future.

How Cheesy Is It?

It wasn’t really, but it had its awkward cringe moments. I found myself laughing more at the internal dialogue of Olivia’s state of mind and felt strangely familiar to my own. She is a spunky character and when comparing Adam Carlson, that man was not only good to imagine but his character was fun to decipher.

This did have one hell of a steamy chapter that honestly made the book a little more intimate and just fall for the characters harder! The end and plot were not in any way ordinary and for that, I have been making sure to keep an eye out and maybe look for the eBook of Love on the Brain from the same author. If you haven’t followed her Instagram, you’re missing out.

What Book is Next?

Well, I had recently partnered with Penguin Random House and was able to receive a copy of Text from You by Sofie Cramer. I am very happy and excited to have received this opportunity from the publishing company and what’s better? It’s soon to be a motion picture even!

All I know of this book is that it’s every woman’s fear. Clara and her fiancé got into an argument and when he left he got into a tragic accident and died. To cope she sends her old fiancé’s number text messages to get by, not knowing that his number has been reassigned. This is a story of Sven being the man and the support for Clara and her growing interest to see who would be such a great supporter and friend even. It may be more love than I have shown highlight to, but I’m excited regardless.
